I'm something of a Renaissance woman - which sounds better than "I can't make up my mind!" I was a classical singer (lyric soprano suffering from mezzo envy) and one-time teacher of same, plus sang some traditional Celtic for my own amusement before getting sidelined by my connective tissue disorder, was a licensed cosmetologist before stopping for same reason, an accounting paraprofessional, hold my bachelor's in chemistry, and got partway through an MS program in Speech-Pathology in order to practice vocal therapy. (I changed my mind on graduate school because I prefer more than 4 hours sleep a night.) I also tried studying to be an CPA but my ADHD got worse with age and it didn't work out. Too many squirrels to chase.
I am also a Renaissance woman as a hobby - I belong to the Society for Creative Anachronism, a Medieval/Renaissance re-creation group where I cook, sew (mostly 16th c.) costumes, embroider a little, dance Renaissance dances, and play the recorder very badly indeed. I've also been an Exchequer (treasurer). Other pastimes included Middle Eastern dance, reading (a lot of SF/Fantasy and some reasonably well-written slushy romances), and reorganizing my cupboards.
I'm kind of sidelined right now as my connective tissue disorder has worsened my sensory processing disorder so I mostly cocoon at home. Too much stimulation is, well, Too Much. I'm I think I'm the queen of acronyms - all my collective disorders and syndromes make for a huge alphabet soup: hEDS/HMS/something similar, ADHD, SPD, POTS, GERD, IBS, BPD II...at least the migraine isn't part of the soup, nor is the strabismus and vertigo from/giving me the SPD. I wouldn't recommend asking me about this stuff - I'll go on and on about it in excruciating and exceedingly boring detail. Lets just say I have "health issues" and leave it at that. :)
